Nicol Sayre

Nicol Sayre

Nicol Sayre's art is reminiscent of a by-gone-era when much pride was taken in creating things by hand. Each doll and figure is a one-of-a-kind creation. Sometimes Nicol follows a certain theme but each doll has a different expression and vintage elements which give them their unique personality.

Nicol has a passion for antique dolls, toys and sewing and household implements. It is from these collections that she draws her inspiration.

The mid-1800's is Nicol's favorite time period and her dolls reflect the styles and colors of this era.

The handwork in Nicol's art is intentionally evident, from hand-stitched hems to a thumbprint in a sculpted figure. She likes to imagine the pioneers who may have admired dolls and toys in shop windows and then set out to create their own entirely from materials at hand.

Nancy Michalak

Nancy Michalak

Inspired by the rich and diverse history of the folk art Scherenschnitte, a German paper cutting technique, Nancy Michalak's work melds this traditional artform with an innovative use of an underlying collage, adding color and dimension of her work. Additionally, colored paper is applied to the surface of the cutout creating a richness of color lacking in traditional technique.

Using silhouette paper and scissors, her designs are drawn and cut as one piece. The challenges of designing a piece is how much detail can be achieved as well as, the consideration of the impact of positive and negative space on the composition.

The scope and diversity of her work includes multilayer traditional valentines, holiday and seasonal themes and pictorial compostions of children.

Imps and Things

Imps and Things

The home of the weird and unusual creatures from the imagination of sculptor Pete Simpson.

I trained as a ceramacist but have been working with mixed media for the last ten year as it gives me more flexibility. I've always been interested in fantasy creatures ever since discovering the work of Brian Froud over 25 years ago.

All of the sculptures are mixed media, usually a wire and wood armature with card and papier mache bodies. Faces, hands and feet are from a mixture of fimo and modelling clay.

David Lozeau

David Lozeau

David Lozeau (pronounced Low-zo) is a mid-career painter who creates unique Day of the Dead inspired characters with quirky details and bold lines. In the span of eight years, he has shown his works in dozens of galleries on three continents, collaborated with Disney and Harley-Davidson, won multiple awards at fine art exhibitions, and been featured in countless magazines and hardcover books.

Day of the Dead, hot rod, tattoo, zombie, and tiki imagery began to dominate Lozeau's work. Oils gave way to a unique process of layering enamel on top of gouache and acrylics and no surface was off limits, as he experimented with painting atop a variety of found items, from thrift store artifacts to surfboards to violins to vintage car parts.

Magic Brush Studio

Magic Brush Studio

I am a self taught artist and have been painting and creating art for over thirty years . My favorite subject is the Black Cat. I started painting black cats in memory of a very special feline I had for many years. His name was 'Black Cat ' of course! I especially like the challenge of painting very detailed pieces. I paint in Acrylics mostly but have also painted in oils. I love painting functional art pieces. such as stools, chairs, wagons and vintage lamps. Some of my favorite art is created on what I call "natures canvas"these are very dimensional pieces of wood tree fungus. I have been painting these for over twenty years now and they still continue to be very popular. I create Halloween and Christmas art all year long.

Bobbins & Bones

Bobbins & Bones

The best description of my art is that it’s a kind of exorcism, casting off invading creatures by projecting them into existence. It’s protection from the things in my head. Horrors beyond life’s edge that we can only imagine - born from neuroses, nightmares and hallucination. Wistful and restless moods inspired by those who tell tales of carnivorous houses and overgrown graveyards, footsteps on stairs and scratchings on doors, howlings and shriekings, groanings and creakings and clanking of chains, of hooded monks and headless horsemen, swirling mists and shrouded spectres, creatures under sheets or under the stairs, vampires and blood hounds, bats and spiders and deathwatch beetles, of vanished corpses and mummies curses. My need is to rid myself of these creatures, exorcizing them the only way I can, by creating them.

My dolls are OOAK original designs that will not be reproduced. Except for the basic body, I don’t use patterns, everything is created free-hand to insure a true OOAK look. Every part of the doll is hand-stitched and all accessories are hand-made by me.

The Eclectic Halloween Artists Guild

The Eclectic Halloween Artists Guild

The Eclectic Halloween Artists Guild was founded in April 2006, and we are a gathering of professional Halloween artists and collectors whose work celebrates the magic of All Hallows Eve, all year. We started as an eBay-based collective, selling under the EHAG acronym. As we grew, we began reaching out to additional outlets, and now you can find our collectible Halloween art, here on our EHAG Emporium, Etsy and of course on eBay. We focus our creative attention toward the whimsical and happy-spirited side of Halloween.
