From Baltimore Maryland, Cris Alex had always had a passion for the arts. Perhaps this love for the general arts coupled with her attention to detail and unlimited imagination explains how she is able to bend the rules of traditional applications of makeup artistry to create a style and look of her own.
Following her education in the field, Cris moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to pursue her career in special makeup effects. Here, working for numerous FX shops she has added such projects as: Tron: Legacy, Amazing Spiderman 2, X-Men Days of Future Past, Sleepy Hollow (the TV series) and Excision to her credits. In addition, Cris was assistant to Celebrity Makeup Artist Maxi on the Alicia Keys music video “Tears Always Win” and was awarded RAWartist 2012 national title for “Makeup Artist of the Year”.www.crisalexmua.com

Due to the mesmerizing effect the visual imagery in the Star Wars saga had on him as a youngn’, Rj began making 3 dimensional art projects in Kindergarten and hasn’t stopped yet. He has a love of the creative process and enjoys the ability to see a project through from the very beginning conceptual phases all the way to the performance, literally bringing it to life.
Combining his love of creation and performance he naturally gravitated to Puppeteering. He was influenced largely at this time by the films The Dark Crystal, Little Shop of Horrors, and Labyrinth. But it wasn’t until Rj discovered the films of Tim Burton that he learned that make up artistry and puppeteering and costuming were all very similar skill sets that criss crossed over into each other.
Starting with Beetleguse, and Batman literally one year apart he became mesmerized with something new … Prosthetic make up. The names Nick Dudman (for his amazing Joker make up) and Ve Neill ( for her Beetlejuice and Penguin creations) would be forever burned into his brain, along side Rick Baker, Stan Winston, Greg Cannom, and Jack Pierce his other make up artistry idols.www.rjhaddy.com
Body painting is one of the oldest art forms. I embrace this medium because it intrigues me. Body art is sensually unique by nature. The canvas has no limits because the canvas has an imagination as well and often we both come together on a single work. The human form is full of life and energy. I never carry on a conversation with a fabric canvas. I never feel the vibrations of a heartbeat through my brush on muslin. Painting someone is a journey for the artist and the person they paint and bonds are formed. I love bodypainting, I interact, and it is often not just an effort to create art, it is therapy for both the artist and the canvas. Are you ready?
"Why do you paint people?"
Because I have never felt the heartbeat of a fabric canvas through my brush, I have never laughed with a fabric canvas until my sides hurt, muslin has never teared up over what I turned it into and it has never turned into one of my closest friends, that's why.www.fleshandcolor.com
