Tomfoolery abounds! Spectacular moments of wonder with Doctor Monocle.
I started this blog as a place to keep reference material and artwork that influenced me/inspired me while I wrote the first Dr. Monocle book. It’s mainly steampunk stuff, but also includes dieselpunk (like steampunk for WWI and WWII), Victorian era stuff, weird west genre stuff, and, every once in a while, a bit of sci-fi or fantasy work.

The home of the weird and unusual creatures from the imagination of sculptor Pete Simpson.
I trained as a ceramacist but have been working with mixed media for the last ten year as it gives me more flexibility. I've always been interested in fantasy creatures ever since discovering the work of Brian Froud over 25 years ago.
All of the sculptures are mixed media, usually a wire and wood armature with card and papier mache bodies. Faces, hands and feet are from a mixture of fimo and modelling clay.

This is my take on a plague doctor's mask, based on a real historical mask. It is made of medium weight, vegetable tan leather, hand-stitched and hand shaped. It has clear acrylic lenses and adjusts to fit most adult heads. Created by Tom Banwell Designs

Escape into the adventurous world of steam travel, airships, dirigibles and pirates with ensembles for exploration and neo-Victorian romance.
Clockwork Couture is the fashion house that sits on the edge of time, at the end of a world that never was. Traveling through eras and continents, we bring back styles from the Neo-Victorian era and infuse it with our well traveled influences.
We are made up of a group of fashionistas, crafters, tinkerers, explorers and imaginators. We look beyond the typical constraints of both practicality and time to see what could be.

Steampunk its more than an aesthetic tendency, it's the longing for the past that never was. Contrary to some assumptions, steampunk isn’t only about wearing awkward goggles and pointless cogs. there are a spirit of defiance against paradigms and preconceptions of modern society, not by raging against corporations and governments but by daring to dream a better world, a world in which the men are still gentlemen, educated, respectful gentlemen, the women are ladies, no balcony ladies, waiting for her prince. But intelligent, brave, cunning, powerful ladies.
Steampunk Girls displays pictures and illustrations of Steampunk, Dieselpunk and other anachronistic 'punks.
